Authorities have confirmed that the last of three monkeys that were on the loose in Mississippi has been recovered alive.

"It was recovered yesterday," said Lt. Col. Chris Reed of the Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries and Parks. "A local resident saw it and reported it to 1-800-BESMART."

Reed said the department responded and the monkey was caught.

"We've got all three that were not accounted for ," Reed said.

The rhesus monkey, also called rhesus macaque, had been on the loose since Oct. 28 when a truck transporting the monkeys from the Tulane National Biomedical Research Center overturned on Interstate 59 near Heidelb
