ATLANTA — Dozens of food pantries are operating across metro Atlanta to provide groceries to families who have temporarily lost their SNAP benefits due to the government shutdown.
Some organizations, such as the Latin American Association, have culturally-specific food pantries for those looking for items that may not be available at some of the other locations.
Madinah Food Pantry Inc . : This group meets the needs of Muslim families by delivering food and clothing a couple of times a week throughout Northeast Georgia. Requests for assistance can be made on the website.
ICNA Relief : This is another organization that meets the needs of Muslim families, offering "caring and compassionate service to victims of adversities and survivors of disasters."
