CALDWELL COUNTY, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) -- A Hudson-area babysitter is being held on a $750,000 bond and could be facing additional charges after a 4-year-old boy who was in his care died from injuries he suffered in an alleged assault earlier this week.
Officers with the Hudson Police Department responded to a home along Hickman Avenue on November 4, where they found the child badly injured.
According to police, the injuries were caused by a man, identified as Thomas Lee Bryant, who had been babysitting the boy at the time.
The 4-year-old was first taken to a local hospital, then transferred to a regional trauma center for more advanced care. Tragically, he died from his injuries early Thursday morning, police said.
