SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (Dakota News Now) - With cryptocurrency scams on the rise nationwide, the Sioux Falls Police Department’s Fraud Division has been taking steps to try and keep the public informed about scams.

“Year after year, it’s become quite known that crypto scams are becoming more prevalent. That’s both nationally and locally, unfortunately,” said Sergeant Jake Harris with the SFPD Property Crime and Fraud Division.

In response to this increase, SFPD has been placing signs next to crypto ATMs in the city.

The signs remind readers to be careful when sending people money through crypto ATMs, and to always know exactly who they are sending the money to.
