MOBILE, Ala. (WKRG) — The Mobile Police Department announced that an 82-year-old who had been reported missing earlier has been located and is safe.

Police issued an alert Thursday seeking the public’s help to find Jimmy Jones after his family reported him missing.

Officers said he was last seen in the 2000 block of Hillcrest Road and might have been driving his Chevy Trailblazer SUV.

The department described Jones as missing and endangered at the time of the alert and asked anyone with information to call the MPD.

Authorities have since confirmed that Jones has been found.

“The missing person has been located and is safe,” the department said in an update.
