An arrest has been made in the murder of a man found shot in a car in Birmingham last month.

Markell Tolbert, 21, was arrested Tuesday and charged with capital murder in the shooting death of 33-year-old Monderrius McClellan, according to the Birmingham Police Department.

McClellan was found dead in the driver's seat of a car near the intersection of 12th Place Southwest and Mayfield Avenue Southwest just after midnight on Oct. 18. Investigators said McClellan was shot as he tried to drive away.

Tolbert is currently being held in the Jefferson County Jail without bond.
