Queensland Opposition Leader Steven Miles will not say if a future Labor government would keep the LNP's signature adult crime, adult time laws.
In an interview with the ABC a year after Labor lost office, Mr Miles declared he wanted to lead his party to the next election in 2028 and insisted his MPs were united.
The former premier said Queenslanders had told him the issues of crime and community safety motivated them to switch their vote to the LNP at the 2024 poll.
"I've said before that I think we responded too late to those increases in crime, particularly increases in crime in places like Townsville," Mr Miles said.
"I really tried to focus on that in the short period of time that I was premier and we were seeing some results there.
