The gutsy Dons picked up their first point of the league phase, as they stopped AEK Larnaca’s 100% start.
Aberdeen had been thrashed 6-0 away to AEK Athens but turned things on their head in Cyprus.
They were rock-solid and that clean sheet was enough to get them off the mark in this competition.
It now gives them hope going into the next two home matches against Noah and Strasbourg.
This was Aberdeen’s third competitive visit to Cyprus. They had a mixed bag. They had beaten New Salamina home and away in the Cup Winners Cup in 1990 and lost to 2-0 Apollon Limassol in this exact same venue back in 2017.
