Florida basketball alum Will Richard scored a career-high of 30 points in his first NBA starter on Wednesday, Nov. 5.
Richard dropped 30 points as he shot 10 of 15 from the floor. The Golden State Warriors rookie guard also knocked down five three-pointers in a 121-116 loss to the Sacramento Kings .
Richard also contributed seven rebounds and three assists in 35 minutes.
“He’s shown he’s an NBA player,” Warriors head coach Steve Kerr said. “The experience, the poise – he doesn’t turn it over, he makes the right play.
“This guy’s a hell of a player.”
Richard was asked at the postgame press conference if it mattered that he scored 30 points.
“No, we lost,” he said.
Richard has averaged 9.1 points, 2.4 rebounds and 1.6 assists per game this season.
