Veterans Day is approaching, and there are numerous events around the SouthCoast to honor those who have served in the Armed Forces.

A veteran is defined as “a person who served in the active military, naval, or air service, and who was discharged or released therefrom under conditions other than dishonorable.”

U.S. veterans represent less than 6.1% of the total adult population, with around 15.8 million veterans living in the U.S.
