The long-gone railroad car parked outside a Fall River McDonald's is being restored.
The train is no longer part of a McDonald's but will become a lunch train running out of Newport in 2026.
The train has not been in Fall River since 2018 but it's taken a while to source parts to repair it.
FALL RIVER — If you grew up in the Fall River area, the city’s long-gone McDonald’s railroad car is sure to spark feelings of nostalgia for those who’ve enjoyed a Happy Meal or celebrated a milestone in the unique restaurant space.
It’s been seven years since that landmark train departed from under its golden arches on William S. Canning Boulevard, bound for a major renovation and new adventures.
Now it appears it’s finally on track to create new memories in the coming year, and the online buzz
