SUFFOLK, Va. (WAVY) - A pedestrian was fatally struck by a vehicle at the intersection of Kissimmee Ave and Factory Street in Suffolk, Thursday morning.

Suffolk Police responded to the scene at approximately 10:40 a.m. and found the victim, identified as 66-year-old Steaven Ray Hamlin, in the roadway.

Hamlin was transported to a local hospital by Suffolk Fire and Rescue, where he succumbed to his injuries.

The driver involved in the incident was located and taken into custody, with charges pending.

The investigation is ongoing, and no further information is available at this time.
