NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY)-- A woman has pleaded guilty to felony homicide after the death of her infant granddaughter in 2024.
On October 30, 51-year-old Alvetta Juanita Haskins pleaded guilty for felony homicide after she fed her 3-month-old granddaughter adult prescription medicine, causing her death.
On April 21, 2024, Haskins was babysitting her grandchildren. Haskins added her prescription antipsychotic medication as well as cough syrup to the 3-month-old baby girl's bottle then fed it to her. Just after midnight on April 22, Haskins called 911 to report that the baby was unresponsive.
