LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – The L.C. & Daisy Bates Foundation is asking the community to come together to celebrate the civil rights activist’s 111th birthday.
The event will be held from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 11, at the Daisy Bates House Museum, located at 1207 W. 28th Street in Little Rock.
Guests are invited to tour the home and learn more about the foundation’s work to preserve the national landmark and civil rights education. Visitors are encouraged to bring or send birthday cards in celebration of her life and impact.
“This annual celebration is not just about remembering Mrs. Bates’ birthday,” L.C. & Daisy Bates Foundation president Charles King said. “It’s about keeping her spirit alive — her courage, leadership, and belief in justice and equality for all.”
