HAZARD, Ky. (WYMT) - In a recent analysis, Eastern Kentucky is beating some of America’s largest cities when it comes to helping people find work.

According to Summit Worxs Solutions research, Eastern Kentucky Concentrated Employment Program served more people per capita in 2024 than programs in Dallas, Miami-Dade and Seattle-King counties.

Summit Worxs Solutions, a Colorado-based research firm, found that EKCEP has achieved significant workforce outcomes despite Eastern Kentucky’s natural disasters and economic challenges.

“What the leadership at EKCEP has done has really created the environment to enable success for all of the participants within this broader ecosystem trying to help the residents of Eastern Kentucky,” said Andrew Bercich, CEO of Summit Works Solutions.
