MACON, Ga. — Macon-Bibb County says that they don't expect many impacts from the Federal Aviation Administration's service reduction announcement, which announced that many of the countries largest airports could see a 10% reduction in service.

According to Doug Faour, who oversees the Middle Georgia Regional Airport, they are not anticipating any big impacts.

The FAA's service cuts are largely targeted at major airports, including Atlanta, Chicago and other of the countries 40 largest airports.

As the government shutdown stretches on , FAA says that the move is intended to ease the burden on air traffic controllers, who as essential workers are required to work but are working without pay.
