SPARTANBURG COUNTY, S.C. (WSPA) -- State transportation officials have closed a Spartanburg County bridge for repairs.
The South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT) said the Hawthorne Avenue bridge over Jimmies Creek was closed after inspectors found that the structure needed work.
The bridge will remain open to local traffic, SCDOT said.
Detour Routes
Drivers heading north on the road will turn left onto Edgewood Circle (S-42-738), then head right on E. Hayne Street (S-42-177) and end back at Hawthorne Avenue (S-42-769).
Drivers heading south on the road will turn right onto E. Hayne Street (S-42-177), turn left on Edgewood Circle (S-42-177) and end at Hawthorne Avenue (S-42-769).
According to SCDOT, the bridge will remain closed until repairs can be made.
