LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WKYT) - A pilot in southern Indiana has raised hundreds of dollars to support first responders and air traffic controllers working the UPS plane crash.
Sidney Martin started a GoFundMe after learning about the crash, saying she knew she could help those rushing into the danger to help others.
“It was devastating. I could not imagine. There was nothing you could do about it,” Martin said.
Personal impact on aviation community
As a pilot, Martin said crashes are an unfortunate reality in her line of work. She said many of the heroes are running on little food and sleep, and she wants to make sure they are taken care of through the heartbreak of working such a devastating event.
“It is amazing. People put their lives on the line to come out and help others,” Martin sai
