RUSSELL, Ky. (WOWK) - As the government shutdown becomes the longest in United States history, people in the Tri-State are coming together to help one another out. One business owner in Russell, Kentucky, is providing meals to families, aided by the generosity of others.

"I had a baby in January, and when I was post-partum, I had stocked up all these meals for myself in the freezer," said Emma Hartley, owner of Sunday Spoonful. "It was really nice to fall back on, so I decided to start making a business out of that.

An idea that started from creating a family turned into a brand-new business dedicated to giving back to the community.
