MORTON ( 25News Now ) - A Morton man is in the Tazewell County Jail after an investigation into alleged child pornography, authorities said Thursday.

The Tazewell County Sheriff’s Office said Michael D. Edie, 64, of the 600 block of East Jackson Street, was arrested and booked on a preliminary charge of unlawful possession of child pornography.

According to a release, around 9 a.m. Thursday, investigators with the sheriff’s office and Morton Police Department conducted a search warrant, with Edie being taken into custody without incident.

The sheriff’s office said Edie had electronic devices containing around 1,000 images and video of alleged child porn.
