SOUTH SIOUX CITY, Neb. (KCAU) — An explosion at a South Sioux City home on Thursday has been linked to "bug bombs."
According to the South Sioux City Fire Department, they were called to the 300 block of East 22nd Street just before noon after receiving reports of an explosion that could be heard several blocks away.
When units arrived at the scene, they found that the front and side windows of the home had been blown out, and a small fire was found in the kitchen. The fire was able to be extinguished quickly.
According to officials, a resident who was at the home told officials that several "bug bombs" had been deployed in the home, and the explosion happened as they were leaving the residence.
