SPOKANE, Wash. -- A man is facing vehicular assault and DUI charges for hitting a teen girl on Halloween.
According to the Spokane Police Department, the 15-year-old was out around 10:30 p.m. at the intersection of Boone Avenue and Maple Street.
SPD says the teen was hit by a vehicle and taken to the hospital.
According to the affidavit of facts filed in Spokane Superior Court, the driver told law enforcement he had been at Twigs in downtown Spokane but denied drinking. An officer conducted a field sobriety test and said the suspect showed signs of impairment.
Court documents say the teen broke her leg and required surgery.
The man is scheduled to be arraigned Thursday, but prosecutors have not filed formal charges at the time of publishing.
