(WFSB) - The 75-foot-tall Norway spruce that will serve as the Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree will arrive Saturday morning from East Greenbush, New York.
The 11-ton tree, measuring 45 feet in diameter, will be transported on a 100-foot-long trailer and lifted into place by crane between 7 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. in front of 30 Rockefeller Plaza.
After the tree installation, Rockefeller Center will host a “Meet the Tree” holiday workshop on North Plaza from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The free public event will celebrate the 60th anniversary of “A Charlie Brown Christmas” and include a Peanuts coloring station, a Make-Your-Own Snoopy station from Build-A-Bear, and letters to Santa. Snoopy will be available for photo opportunities at Top of the Rock and on North Plaza.
