The Southern Nevada Health District announced the first flu-related death of a Clark County resident this season, as flu activity is increasing for the 2025-26 period.

The man who died was in his 80s, the health district said.

Though reports of respiratory and influenzalike illnesses remain minimal in the local community, the health district cautioned that seasonal flu activity is increasing. There have been 17 flu-associated hospitalizations reported in Clark County as of today.
