PEORIA, Ill. (WMBD) -- As construction season winds down in Peoria, the city's Public Works Department says its crews are wrapping up a busy year of improvements.
So far, every major project remains on or ahead of schedule. And as the city gets into its snow-fighting mode, plans are underway to resume in the spring.
The city just finished the year-and-a-half reconstruction of the intersection of Pioneer Parkway and University Street to improve traffic flow and pedestrian safety in the area.
Work continues on the Adams and Jefferson One Way to Two Way conversion project, which will bring two-way traffic back to Downtown for the first time in 75 years.
The goal is to finish up intersection corners this fall before starting the milling and overlay on Jefferson Avenue next spring, said Nic
