The City of Newburgh has begun distribution of emergency funds for recipients of Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program who may be facing disruptions to their food assistance benefits.

USA TODAY reported Nov. 6 that a federal judge in Rhode Island ordered the Trump administration to fully cover federal food assistance for 42 million Americans in November by Nov. 7. The administration announced Nov. 5 it would provide SNAP recipients with up to 65% of their monthly benefit in November.
