SAVANNAH, Ga. (WSAV) — A federal judge has ordered the Trump administration to make full Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) payments for November by Friday.
The order was issued by U.S. District Judge John McConnell in Rhode Island on Thursday afternoon.
McConnell previously ruled that the Trump administration had to distribute benefits as soon as possible, which was expected to cost around $9 billion. The administration agreed to partially fund SNAP by using $4.65 billion in contingency funds but declined to draw from additional funding, NBC News reported.
