SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (Dakota News Now) - Faith Temple Church is helping those in need get an extra side on their tables.
The church has been donating potatoes to different organizations to disperse, and on Thursday, the Rosebud Sioux Tribe picked up 200,000 pounds of potatoes.
The potatoes will be distributed to the tribe, Mitchell Food Bank, and the Baltic Pantry.
“The way the government is going on tight now, the potatoes are going to help feed other families. You know, they can make soups or whatever they need to make. It’s going to help a lot of people on the reservation and the other communities that are out there that need help. It’s a big help,” said organizer Billy Sheveland.
The pastor at Faith Temple Church encouraged organizations that need help to reach out.
