SALT LAKE CITY — Travel headaches are coming to major airports across the country due to the government shutdown and airport staffing shortages, and Salt Lake City is one of them.
The Federal Aviation Administration plans to start cutting flights in “high traffic areas” of the U.S. starting Friday.
The U.S. Transportation Secretary told NBC they plan to reduce air traffic by 10% at 40 airports nationwide. The Salt Lake City International Airport confirmed on social media that it was on the list. According to the Associated Press , that list also includes major hubs like Chicago O’Hare, JFK and LAX, among many others.
