MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) - Wisconsin head football coach Luke Fickell isn’t going anywhere, according to reports.

ESPN’s Pete Thamel said Athletic Director Chris McIntosh confirmed Fickell will return to coach the Badgers in 2026.

The update comes with an increased financial investment in roster and programming, according to Thamel.

Wisconsin is 2-6 for the season so far this year, and 0-5 in the Big Ten.

Fickell said during a news conference in late October that he hadn’t been told if her was coming back or not next season.

McIntosh had backed Fickell in a statement to season ticket holders on Oct. 20, saying “Coach Fickell sees the potential in what this team can be, as do I, and he shares the same disappointment and frustration.”
