ROCHESTER, Minn. — The City of Rochester announced the rescheduling of the assessment hearing for the East Center Street Reconstruction Project to January 2026. This decision ensures that all affected property owners can participate after some residents reported late delivery of hearing notices.

The City discovered that the initial mailing of notices, planned for September, lacked confirmation of being sent. This raised concerns about whether statutory requirements for notifying property owners were met.

Ann Kasel, City Clerk, emphasized the importance of proper notification, saying, "This step ensures that every affected property owner will receive proper notice and have the opportunity to provide feedback before assessments are finalized."
