LOUISVILLE, Ky. ( WAVE /Gray News) - UPS has released the identities of the three crew members who lost their lives after Tuesday’s plane crash near Louisville Muhammad Ali Airport.
UPS Flight 2976 crashed after attempting to depart from Louisville SDF airport on Tuesday.
Captain Richard Wartenberg, First Officer Lee Truitt and International Relief Officer Captain Dana Diamond were those onboard the flight, according to UPS.
“Our hearts go out to every UPSer who has been impacted and all in our Louisville community – supporting you and ensuring you receive the care and resources you need is our priority," the company shared in a statement.
Officials said 12 fatalities have been announced, including the three crew members, but the death toll could still rise.
