WACO, Texas (KWTX) - Bonham Middle School Principal, Michael Hobbs is being honored with the Texas Music Educators Association’s Distinguished Administrator Award.

Recognized for his dedication to music and arts programs. Hobbs has gone above and beyond to support students and teachers, helping creativity, and confidence thrive on campus.

Sakina Qureshi from Midway High School has created a one of a kind ornament that will travel to the Capitol building in Austin.

The ornament she designed will represent Texas House District 56 on the 2025 Capitol Christmas Tree.

The ornament is a 3D Winter scene showcasing a hand painted forest and a cabin nestled behind a shimmering river inside a glass globe.

She says it was very fun to make and she is impressed with how it turned out.
