ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - A Cobb County Superior Court Judge has reversed a ruling that expelled a Cobb County student for “intentionally causing a major school disruption.”
The expulsion happened after a Campbell Middle School student, identified by the initials G.D., sent messages on his school-issued laptop to other students about a shooting that was supposedly going to take place during lunch.
Attorney Claire Sherburne is representing G.D. She says he is Autistic and was trying to prevent a tragedy after allegedly overhearing about the threat at school.
“This was two days post-Apalachee, so this was a really scary time for adults and of course for kids. G.D. was 13 at the time. This felt like a credible threat. He was scared, and he did what many of us would do, which was
