SACO, Maine — Police are searching for two high school students who left Sweetser’s special-purpose K–12 school in Saco without authorization on Thursday, according to officials.
Sweetser confirmed the students left campus earlier in the day, and staff immediately followed established safety procedures, monitoring them until they were out of sight, Chief Program Officer Kristie Worster said in a statement.
“Our primary concern is always the safety and well-being of the youth we serve,” Worster said. “We understand that any child missing is of grave concern, and we take this situation with the utmost seriousness.”
