MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) - A driver was airlifted to the hospital Wednesday morning after a vehicle crashed into a wooded area, the Green Lake Sheriff’s Office reported.

According to a Facebook post by the Sheriff’s Office, the single vehicle crash happened on Wednesday on CTH D.

Investigators said the vehicle went off the road and into the woods.

The Princeton Fire Department removed the driver in “extremely challenging conditions,” deputies stated.

The crash shut down CTH D for several hours.

Green Lake/Brooklyn Fire Department, Berlin EMS, ThedaStar and Wisconsin State Patrol responded to the crash.
