(CNN)– Outback Steakhouse abruptly closed 21 restaurants last month.
Outback’s parent company Bloomin’ Brands disclosed the closures in its earnings report Thursday, Nov 6.
In addition, it said another 22 more locations will shutter over the next four years.
Outback has been struggling for the past two years.
The company said it’s in the midst of what it calls a “comprehensive turnaround strategy” to keep up with its competitors.
Outback has 670 U.S. locations remaining, that is about 10% less that a decade ago.
