JAMESTOWN, Colo. (KKTV) - Colorado Parks and Wildlife (CPW) said it is investigating a reported bull moose attack west of Jamestown in Boulder County.
CPW said the attack happened on Thursday around 1 p.m.
According to wildlife officers, a woman was walking her dog off-leash when a young bull moose knocked her to the ground and stomped on her multiple times.
The woman was taken to a hospital with head and back injuries. Her condition is not known at this time.
Officers responded to the area of the attack, but CPW said they were unable to find the moose. Signs warning of aggressive moose behavior have reportedly been placed in the area.
According to CPW, many reported moose attacks involve dogs because dogs can be viewed by moose as predators or potential threats.
