A pair of Maryland smoke shop raids ended with stacks of cash, piles of marijuana, and three men in handcuffs, according to police.
The Baltimore Police Department’s Southeast District Action Team (DAT) wrapped up a months-long investigation into illegal marijuana sales that started with a 311 complaint, officials announced Thursday, Nov. 6.
With help from SWAT, Baltimore City Sheriff’s Deputies, and agents from the Maryland Alcohol, Tobacco, and Cannabis Commission, detectives carried out search and seizure warrants at two businesses: Pulaski Convenient, on North. Bouldin Street and E. Monument Convenience.
During the raids, detectives said they made undercover purchases and recovered:
- 205 vapes;
- 1,113 individual packages of marijuana;
- $63,500 in cash.
Police said 22-year-old Muslim Ahmed, 33-year-old Magdi Elroubat, and 37-year-old Mohamed Ahmed were arrested as a result of the investigation.
The department thanked community members who provided tips and the law enforcement partners who assisted throughout the operation.
“Through their cooperation and collaboration, we continue to identify and address illegal activity in our neighborhoods,” officials said.
