The Alabama Department of Archives and History is opening a new gallery to honor military veterans.

The Alabama Military Stories Gallery uses artifacts, images and videos to showcase Alabama’s veterans.

The veterans’ stories will highlight every major conflict, specifically focusing on the past 100 years. They are centered on the themes of service, community and legacy.

The gallery will open to the public tomorrow.

“These are about the lives of Alabamians who have served our state and nation throughout our history and they’re from all walks of life,” Alabama Department of Archives and History Director Steve Murray told Action 8 News. “They are enlisted, they’re officers, they’ve served in various branches of service and from all parts of the state.
