BOSTON (WWLP) - Bay State higher education professionals gathered at the State House to celebrate the achievements of a program called SUCCESS and look ahead to strengthening their efforts.
SUCCESS stands for Supporting Urgent Community College Equity through Student Services, and it's designed to support underserved populations through scholarship and career advisory services, peer mentoring, academic skills workshops, and more.
"Today's students, as you know, face unique and intersecting challenges, balancing school, work, family, navigating housing and food insecurity, and often being the first in their families to go to college," explained Northampton Senator Jo Comerford.
Efforts are paying off--on time credit completion is on the rise at community colleges, particularly for black
