Costco has issued a voluntary safety recall of its popular Kirkland prosecco, warning customers that the bottles can break or shatter.
In a Nov. 6 product safety notice , the U.S. Consumer Products Safety Commission stated that about 941,400 bottles of Costco's Kirkland Signature Valdobbiadene Prosecco DOCG are being recalled.
According to the notice, F&F Fine Wines International, Inc., the company that imports and distributes the wine, has received 10 reports of the prosecco bottles breaking or shattering, which has resulted in one injury.
The recall comes almost two months since Costco issued the similar notice for the product, stating there's “a risk of unopened bottles shattering, even when not handled or in use.” The November recall is a follow up to the initial recall, F&F Fin
