The final week of the high school football regular season has arrived in the Lone Star State.
As district championship races come to a close, multiple teams around the area have league titles at stake this weekend with a handful of big-time matchups in the Texas Panhandle.
On Thursday night, Palo Duro welcomes Abilene Cooper to Dick Bivins Stadium as the Dons seek their first outright District 2-5A Division II since 2004. Palo Duro's Week 10 win clenched a share of the district title, but Eric Mims Sr.'s team will have to take down a solid Cougars' squad.
Also on Thursday, Caprock makes the trek to Lubbock for a District 2-5A Division I contest against Monterey with the winner earning a spot in the playoffs.
