On the same day that Amarillo High's football team was forced to vacate six wins from the 2025 campaign, the team miraculously landed a spot in the playoffs.
Friday morning, AISD announced that the UIL had ruled one of the Sandies' players ineligible , causing the team to forfeit all six wins the player participated in this season. That dropped the group's record from 7-2 and 4-1 in District 2-5A Division I play to 1-8 and 1-4 in district play.
The ineligible player didn't participate in Amarillo High's contest against Caprock, meaning Chad Dunnam's team kept its win against the Longhorns.
