The federal budget is a “missed opportunity” for First Nations and Indigenous peoples, said National Chief Cindy Woodhouse Nepinak, with a lack of commitments to closing the infrastructure gap in communities and making good on the federal promise for generational investment.

At a keynote address at the BMO Centre on Thursday, Woodhouse Nepinak said the Assembly of First Nations will call for a First Ministers meeting with the government to “chart a gap to close these discriminatory gaps.”
