Pedestrian dies after late night hit and run in Evansville

HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) -- A man is dead after being hit by a vehicle late Wednesday night in Evansville.

Officers were sent to the area of Jeanette Avenue and Fickas Road around 9:30 p.m. A caller reported a man lying in the road. Police say the man had been hit by a vehicle.

Eyewitness News is told the man was taken to a hospital but later died. Officials say the investigation into this incident is ongoing. A suspect has not yet been identified and the name of the victim has not been released.
