ORONO, Maine (WABI) - Former Secretary of State Matt Dunlap is already in, but will more Democrats enter the fray?

UMaine Political Science Chair Mark Brewer says yes, and he expects to hear about it sooner rather than later.

The race to be the Democratic nominee for governor is crowded.

We asked if anyone might be considering a campaign change.

“If I’m Troy Jackson, I’m thinking pretty serious about it, for sure. He’s a Second District guy. He started his career as a Republican, moved over as a Democrat, but he’s a Second District kind of populist Democrat. So, I think he would fit,” Brewer said.
