Chowchilla police arrested two people Wednesday following search warrants related to a shooting that occurred a day earlier, authorities said.

Officers executed warrants in the 500 block of Trinity Avenue and the 300 block of Rose Avenue, the Chowchilla Police Department said.

During the searches, police recovered a stolen firearm along with gang-related drawings and attire.

The department thanked the Madera County Sheriff’s Office Special Investigations Unit for assisting in the operation.

The case remains under investigation.
