BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) -- A fundraiser is scheduled Sunday for the family of the 8-year-old boy who died of his injuries after being struck by an alleged drunken driver while eating a meal with his father.

The fundraiser is being hosted by Mariscos El Cholo on Sunday, Nov. 9 at 1414 E. California Ave. Proceeds from food sales and a car wash will go to support the family of Xxavien Hernandez.

In a social media post, food truck said: "We want to express our heartfelt gratitude to all our friends, family, and loyal customers who have shown their love and support during this difficult time."

Xxavien died of his injuries after he and his father were struck by an alleged drunken driver on Nov. 3. near the corner of East California Avenue and Haley Street.
