(KRON) -- A teenager who died after he crashed his motorcycle near San Jose High School on Halloween was identified by officials Thursday.

According to the Santa Clara County Medical Examiner's Office, the motorcyclist was 19-year-old Andres Enrique Mendoza Villanueva of San Jose.

The deadly accident happened just before 6 p.m. on Oct. 31. Police Sgt. Jorge Garibay said Villanueva was riding a 2005 Yamaha motorcycle "at a high rate of speed," without a helmet, on North 24th Street.

His motorcycle collided with a 2016 Toyota pickup truck that was backing out of a driveway, according to Garibay.

Villanueva died at the scene. The man who was driving the pickup truck remained on scene and cooperated with the investigation, police said.
